In May 2023, the ‘Share Your AXA Research 2023’ Event gathered 15 AXA Research Fellows (9 in person in Paris and 6 virtually) who were invited to pitch their research projects in 3 minutes to the AXA Scientific Board, and guests from IOC-UNESCO and AXA. The Fellows are working on a range of research projects funded by AXA Research Fund, from two Calls for Projects on Health impacts on Climate Change and on Coastal Livelihoods Resilience (joint AXA & IOC-UNESCO call).
Following a media training led by Dr. Elodie Chabrol, a science communication specialist, the AXA fellows were tasked to communicate their research projects in a quick, accessible, and impactful manner to a large audience.
Dr Andrea Ficchì was among those fellows in Paris and had the opportunity to exchange with them, as well as with experts from AXA and IOC-UNESCO, delving with them into the intricate challenges of their research projects.
In the recorded research pitch presentations (see video below), you will discover a range of ongoing research projects that AXA has funded in 2022, including PRINTFLOODS.
After the ‘Share Your AXA Research’ event, Andrea and the other fellows from the joint AXA & IOC-UNESCO Call had the chance to visit the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris to discuss with the UN Ocean Decade Team. They also recorded some interviews on their work and links with the Ocean Decade. Following these, their projects were issued in the summer issue of the ECO Magazine (a global marine science trade publication).
